Julia and Shane were married at Julia’s parents’ rustic Westford home on July 4. Unlike some of the rowdier weddings we’ve experienced, Julia and Shane’s day had an elegant and understated feel to it. Rather than a DJ or band, there were classical violin and bagpipe performances from family members, and people volunteered to man the grill instead of bringing in a caterer. After the ceremony most people immediately got into comfortable clothes and the party took on a casual family BBQ feel. Shane, who’s British, had family travel from overseas for the wedding. They tell me Shane proposed at Disneyland in Paris. Adorable! So happy for you, Julia and Shane. Congratulations!
