Charlene and Jay’s wedding was unlike any other we’ve seen before. The two were wed on a beautiful but blustery subzero day at the very top of Jay Peak. Friends and family stuck it out to see a short but meaningful ceremony with a breathtaking view of the snow-covered valleys below. After getting warmed up, we shot a few portraits and then rode the gondola back down to enjoy the rest of the evening from the toasty warm reception hall. 🙂 What an unforgettable day! Congratulations Charlene and Jay!
We rarely do winter engagement sessions but really enjoy them – it’s a chance to explore the Vermont landscape in a very different light. After meeting Rachel and Brendan for coffee, we wandered the back alleys of Pine Street a bit and then decided we’d have a little more fun if we warmed up with a drink at Juniper Bar first. Our assumptions proved correct and we also got some great shots in an elegant Hotel Vermont setting. We headed back out to Oakledge, this time with their pup, and explored the park for a while. Can’t wait to work with these two at their wedding in September!
We are thrilled to share images from our last wedding of the year. Heather and Cliff were wed at Ski Esta, a beautiful mansion near Sunday River in Maine (we shot their engagement session earlier this fall around Burlington). They filled the house with friends and family for a beautiful ceremony that took place in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Sunday River. A lively reception and dance party followed; we set up a photo booth and captured some fun portraits of the guests. Cliff’s daughter Sophie was an important part of the celebrations, and we were surprised later by snow, taking advantage of the flakes for a few impromptu late-night portraits.
We were so honored to spend the weekend with these two and their loved ones. What a great time! Congratulations Heather and Cliff!!
After a long season full of elaborate, all-day weddings, we were so excited when Angela and James asked us to photograph their simple elopement in Burlington. The two of them met up with officiant Kathryn Blume at Muddy Waters, where they had a short but tearful ceremony at a cozy table. We then took a walk up Church Street to Yankee Tattoo where they had their wedding bands inked in. Afterwards we took a few portraits before they met up with family members for dinner, and then parted ways to let them enjoy an intimate meal. What a perfect way to celebrate! Congratulations Angela and James!
Cheryl and Scott were wed on a gorgeous autumn day at the West Monitor Barn in Richmond. Their wedding theme was “giving back” which showed through in every aspect of their wedding. The venue fees from West Monitor Barn, home of the Vermont Youth Corps, go to the kids. Cheryl wore TOMS shoes (for every pair purchased one goes to a child in need) and many of the vendors, including ourselves, donated a portion of their fees to one of three nonprofits. Overall a beautiful day full of love, group hugs and a great party to end the night – and our fall wedding season! Congrats Cheryl and Scott!
