Katie & Dan | 7.23.2011

Katie & Dan were wed at St. John Vianney Church and had their reception at the Vermont National Country Club. It was pretty toasty (read: sweltering) the day of, but it was lovely weather otherwise and cooled off nicely later on. We were able to go out and make some gorgeous portraits of Katie and Dan right around sunset as well as some great close-up shots of their rings. I thought that the DJ was particularly awesome, as were the little desserts that got served up after the cake cutting. Many thanks to second shooter Isaac Wasuck!

Cherisse & Korey | 7.23.2011

Cherisse and Korey were wed last month at a beautiful property in Port Kent, New York. They had a gorgeous sunshine yellow color theme and a great DIY aesthetic that showed through in many of the little details – such as postcard style centerpieces and place cards made of wildflower seed paper that guests could take home and plant. The house is currently being remodeled but still had much of the original wallpaper from the last century, making for some fun portrait opportunities and dress photos. A pie cutting and getting down on the dance floor rounded out the evening nicely. Congratulations Korey and Cherisse!

Many thanks to the fabulous Ansley West for second shooting!

Jill & Dan | 7.3.2011

Jill and Dan were married at the Blueberry Hill Inn in Goshen on Fourth of July weekend. For those of you not familiar with it, the Blueberry Hill Inn is a wonderfully secluded place in the Moosalamoo region of the Green Mountain National Forest. There’s zero cell phone signal (perfect for a getaway) and the inn is a delightful little place with an indoor greenhouse/garden area and dried flowers and herbs hanging everywhere. Everything from the rehearsal dinner to the ceremony to the photo booth went beautifully. Jill and Dan were a pleasure to photograph – both witty, generous, and smart, with a wicked sense of humor. It may have been a bit tough to get photos of Dan with a straight face but their good natures more than made up for that. Congratulations Jill and Dan! We wish you and your families the best!

Becca & Mike | 6.25.2011

For Becca and Mike’s wedding we returned to the Mountain Top Inn, one of our favorite Vermont spots for shooting. Becca and Mike are loads of fun, and you can see their easygoing style and sense of humor in the photos. They were also very particular about choosing great music, and got the entire wedding busting dance moves before dinner was served. A sprinkling of rain during the ceremony turned into a stormy downpour during the reception – made all the more hilarious by the fact that Mike has a childhood fear of thunderstorms and providing great fodder for toasts.

A couple of other things we loved: Mike’s ring, when turned to the side, was in the shape of Becca’s profile. I’ve included a photo below, as I’ve never seen anything quite like it and thought it was pretty awesome. They also had a dessert bar with a variety of desserts handmade by family members – a delicious and wonderfully personalized alternative to cake. Many thanks to my second shooter Ben Hudson who did an awesome job photographing and helping out with formals!
